Angier is 25 miles south of Raleigh and is the midway point between Raleigh and Fayetteville. Established in 1901, it was a popular stop for travelers from Boston to New Orleans. Today, it is a growing yet still small suburb of Raleigh. Known as the "Town of Crepe Myrtles." Angier is home to about 5000 people. Popular events are Bike Fest, attracting motorcycle enthusiasts during the summer, and the Crepe Myrtle Festival which brings in as many as 20,000 visitors. The town is also home to a brewery and a vineyard.
