How did you become involved in real estate?
When my kids were little, I used to study property values in my local market. A friend of mine was a Realtor, and we were discussing the market and she said, "You should be in this business, you know more about the market than most Realtors I know."
Where in the Triangle area are you the most active?
I have worked all over the Triangle, primarily in Durham, Raleigh, Cary, Holly Springs, Apex, and Garner.
What features are today's buyers most excited about?
Today's buyers are looking for value - today and for resale purposes. They want upgraded features and move-in ready homes.
What is your favorite room in a house?
The kitchen, where everyone loves to gather to eat, laugh, and chitchat.
What did you do prior to real estate?
Prior to selling real estate, I worked primarily as a photographer. While my twins were little, I was a stay-at-home mom to my 3 children and was very active in volunteering at their schools and PTA.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a photographer who traveled the world.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life.
Do you participate in any organizations, groups, or committees?
I am currently a stroke and turn judge and starter for USA Swimming, I officiate for local high schools, USA Swimming, Special Olympics, and NCAA events. It is quite rewarding to watch simmers progress in their sport.
What do you enjoy most about living in the Triangle area?
There are so many things to do in the Triangle. Live music, plays, the Symphony, and museums. The Triangle is also foodie heaven, with every type of cuisine imaginable.
Where is your favorite place to eat in the Triangle?
There are so many great places to eat in the Triangle, but my favorite is Saladelia in Durham. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh, it's often hard to choose from the menu!
What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone thinking about relocating to the area?
When relocating to the Triangle, it's often hard to pin down the exact spot that is a fit for you. I recommend looking in areas in close proximity to work.
