Hope Valley Real Estate Market
Hope Valley is one of Durham's oldest communities. It was established in the 1920's, just before the stock market crash that derailed any new development for quite some time. The homes were built around an 18-hole golf course, which remains to this day. Because the homes in the original Hope Valley development were built between 1927 and 1959, they have historical styling. The majority of the homes are built in the Colonial Revival and Tudor Revival style. In fact, the core of the community enjoys status on the National Register of Historic Places.
Hope Valley real estate has a great selection of Traditional-style homes for any homebuyer. Over time, the neighborhood has expanded significantly, and it includes many newer homes that feature modern architectural style. There are now more than 900 homes in the community, ranging in size from 1,500 square feet to 8,000 square feet and ranging in price from $150,000 to $1 million. The variety of homes means that buyers can find a home that fits their budget and their tastes. Whether they want a smaller, townhome or a historic estate, potential homebuyers can find what they need in Hope Valley.
Residents can enjoy membership at the Hope Valley Country Club or play a few rounds on the golf course. They also have fast access to both Duke University and UNC Chapel Hill. Many other popular attractions are nearby, including Southpoint Mall, the downtown dining scene, the Duke Lemur Center, The N.C. Museum of Life and Science, and more. The community is also in district for some of the best schools in Durham County.
